Hello Band Parents! It’s that time of year again when the kids dust off their instruments and buy new band shoes because their feet grew 2 inches over the summer. As we head into the fall marching season, the Band Boosters would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone how your boosters support every student participating in the band program.
Each year we help lower the kids’ cost of participation by pitching in with the cost of shoes, polos and other necessary band items. When there is a need that exceeds the school budget, the boosters provide funds for materials that the program would otherwise do without. The boosters have provided for the new trailer that hauls band equipment to parades and away games. We have purchased music for individual concert seasons. We purchased meal tickets for the bands’ recent trip to Disney when that unexpected cost raised the planned price for each student’s trip.
It is important to remember that without the concession stand income from home games, the boosters would be unable to contribute to each student’s band experience in this way. There are over 100 volunteer slots to fill this coming football season. We rely on parent participation to keep the stand running smoothly. Not to mention, it’s a great way to get to know each other and support the kids at the same time.
