My name is Lisa Strouse and this year I am teaching Plant Biology, Chemistry, and Environmental Science. I am also the Envirothon Club and Greenhouse Advisor.
I am a graduate of South Williamsport High School and earned my General Science/Biology and Chemistry degree from the University of Wisconsin - Platteville. I then attended Lycoming College and received my Instructional I certificate to teach Chemistry, Biology and General Science. In addition to short term teaching assignments and private tutoring, I spent a few years as a lab technician/water chemist at a local testing facility and was a Government Documents/Cataloging technician at Lycoming College. In May 2011, I received my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Scranton. In June 2011 I completed the Master Gardener program for the Penn State Cooperative Extension Office. I believe strongly in learning something new everyday and will never stop!
I am very enthusiastic about life and learning and hope I can instill that same sense of wonder in all my students. I also hope to instill in all students a level of respect and common courtesy that is vital to ensuring a safe and happy environment for all in school and out! If you need to contact me, please email or call. Anyone needing extra help can see me before or after school or during my prep period or lunch - please see my schedule below. For specific class information, please refer to the Sapphire System's Parent Portal through the East Lycoming School District web page.
